Dealing with grief during the holiday season can be particularly challenging, as these times are often associated with family, togetherness, and celebration. Â While everyone grieves differently and there is no one-size-fits-all solution, here are some suggestions on how to cope with the loss and how working with a medium may provide comfort:
Â
Acknowledge Your Feelings – It’s important to recognize and accept your emotions. Allow yourself to feel sadness, grief, and any other emotions that may arise. It’s normal to miss a loved one, especially during special occasions.
Â
Create New Traditions – Consider establishing new holiday traditions or adapting existing ones. This can help create a sense of continuity while acknowledging the changes in your life. It’s a way to honor your loved one’s memory while finding new sources of joy.
Â
Share Memories – Share stories and memories of your loved one with friends and family. Celebrate the positive impact they had on your life. Talking about them can be a therapeutic way to keep their spirit alive in your heart.
Â
Seek Support – Surround yourself with supportive friends, family, or a support group. Sharing your feelings with others who understand can provide comfort and alleviate feelings of isolation.
Â
Self-Care – Take care of your physical and emotional well-being. Engage in activities that bring you joy, relaxation, and a sense of peace. This could include exercise, meditation, or spending time in nature.
Â
Consider Professional Help – If you find it challenging to cope with your grief, consider seeking help from a mental health professional, such as a therapist or counselor. They can provide guidance and support during difficult times.
Can a Medium Help?
Understand the Purpose – Working with a medium is a personal choice. Some people find comfort and closure through the experience, while others may not resonate with it. Understand your reasons for seeking a medium and be clear about your expectations.
Some people believe that our loved ones are still around us and are very much alive! If you have this belief that we all continue live on, and perhaps, maybe our loved ones are in another dimension, you may feel comfort by seeking a medium to help connect with your loved ones from behind the veil. You may get messages during this difficult time and can help alleviate any sadness or grief.
Â
Research  – If you decide to consult a medium, do a thorough research to find a reputable and experienced one. Seek recommendations from people you trust or read reviews to ensure the medium is trustworthy and has a positive track record. Ask your friends for referrals or read client reviews.  If you would like a reading from me, we can do a meet and greet session before you get a reading. Send me a message here.
Â
Be Open-Minded – Approach the session with an open mind. Mediums often convey messages they receive in symbolic or metaphorical ways. Allow yourself to interpret the information in a way that feels meaningful to you. Understand however, that not every session will provide the same level of connection or clarity. Be realistic and open-minded, about any expectations of mediumship and recognize that experiences can vary. Some spirits show up because they have important messages to convey, so therefore don’t rely on any specific spirit you may be expecting as there is no guarantee the spirit you want to speak with will show up.
Â
Combine Mediumship Readings with Other Coping Strategies – Mediumship can be one tool among many for coping with grief. It’s important to combine it with other strategies, such as counseling, support groups, and self-care practices.
Remember that everyone’s grief journey is unique, and there is no right or wrong way to navigate it. It’s essential to find what works best for you and to be patient with yourself as you go through the healing process.
